We cannot succeed without questioning the current economic model. The low-tax, liberal economy is the primary driver of the systemic inequality and exclusion. The Board of directors of the State Trading Corporation (STC) of Mauritius was entirely dismissed and subsequently reconstituted.

The reconstituted board introduced some changes but mostly a simple rollover of identical members. A prominent businessman, a close friend of the Minister was appointed as the part-time Chairperson, two independent members with 4 Public officials representing the concerned Ministries and a representative from the MPA. The STC's executive operations continue to be run by General Manager Suren Dayal, who maintains his management position alongside the new advisory board.
