The Mouvement Militant Mauricien (MMM) is celebrating its 57th anniversary today. The political party is marking the milestone with a major anniversary congress held at the Octave Wiehé Auditorium in Réduit, Mauritius, under the theme "Yesterday, Today,Tomorrow: Duty and Responsibility".

Opponents, critics, and even a portion of the party’s own grassroots faction accuse the remaining MMM leadership of being "𝒃𝒂𝒏𝒏 𝒗𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒓 𝒍𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕".

Because the 15 MMM members of parliament chose to remain in the ruling coalition after Bérenger's departure, critics argue that the party is complicit in and shielding the government from its ongoing corruption scandals, questionable nominations, and controversial policy decisions.
