The murder of our democracy goes on !

Top FM has been suspended for three days starting from to-morrow December 16 .

This is yet another attempt by this dictatorial regime to subvert our democracy- a democracy that has yielded broad political continuity and economic stability; a bulwark for building lasting freedom and justice- a democracy that we were living not only in letter but in spirit till the advent of the Jugnauth Empire.

We had developed a culture of discussion and tolerance; to deny this praxis is to negate democracy, or the catharsis of politics as a liberating act.

With this regime, we seem to have lost the capacity to engage in intellectual debate and such attacks close the routes to debate and discussions. Such censures not only demean our democracy, it also sounds its death knell-

Are these the last gasps of our democracy already undermined by authoritarian and dictatorial tendencies,corrupt politicians,a subservient elite,judiciary and police force?

When a leader pillages his state and subverts the rule of law and wreaks havoc on democracy, it is everybody’s business. Where is the solidarity of other radio stations and the press and .....?
