TEMPO LA BIEN BIEN SO !

The latest edition of “Tempo la So” on Top FM is really shocking. The Police and its Commissioner, and the Telecom and its CEO, have lost all credibility. (tampering of evidence, complicity...19 bn for Safe City that has no data recovery, no back-up; PM's inquiry? which inquiry, a parallel inquiry by whom ?-a parallel police ?)
They are plunging the country back into obscurantism, a culture of abuse and impunity within the country's police system and our major institutions.
The country’s non-pareil record of robust, well-functioning and trustworthy institutions is being tarnished . Our institutions are being infected and hollowed and they are even imperilling our national security and have become a menace to its own people. People have lost trust in our institutions.
We knew that our politicians were largely corrupt but it was still a country in which morality and humanity mattered. But the Jugnauth Empire-the bunch of professionalised, cosseted, venal and cynical politicians , guilty of the social decay and the decline of decorum and morality in the country- has also succeeded in converting the businessmen of the country into “tenderpreneurs”- to describe politically connected winners of public contracts- but now we have reached the summum, they are transforming our law enforcement agencies into “Tonton Macoutes” operational units.
What were once isolated cases -the death in detention of Kaya or Anand Kumar Ramdhony or the Bassin Blanc murders - have become the norm. The very fabric of this country’s law and order is at stake.
They are crippling this dot of an island that confounded the critics to become an emerging tiger of the Indian Ocean with the inventiveness and dedication of hard-working Mauritians. A darkness had now descended on the country under the Jugnauth Empire and the pandemic not helping , I am worried about the future of my country . We cannot expect much from this regime especially in leading the country’s post- pandemic recovery and avoiding the wreckage of human lives across the country .
I am not feeling too safe myself; yes, I am becoming paranoiac because I have lost trust in this government.

  • Fully agree. But what is baffling is the timid reaction of the opposition parties as compared to what this group of lawyers is doing. One would have expected a harsher reaction from the former. It seems to me that the loss of trust is not solely with t…
