A major Financial Scandal : We need a full investigation of the severe regulatory failures at the Bank of Mauritius (BoM)—specifically involving its Supervision Department and the Deputy Governor's office—and the massive governance failures ,corporate negligence and regulatory failures of the Boards of the banking institutions
.Don’t u think it’s time for a full investigation of this massive banking scandal which centers on the systemic collapse of financial oversight and dysfunctional governance by the BoM and the Banks' Boards, allowing an estimated Rs 25 billion to disappear through toxic loans, write-offs, and siphoned public funds. Full-fledged investigations will expose the extent of the incompetence, the governance and regulatory failures and political interference.
Meanwhile while we are having to bear the cost of such incompetence and failures , these very incompetent ex-supervisors, ex-Deputy governors are being promoted/reshuffled elsewhere and some of the ex-Board members are now coolly enjoying their retirement or new jobs- ti lipiรฉ lor gro lipiรฉ, sipping their beer. Our PM , kas gran pakรฉ, by making a statement about this scandal in the NA and promising that the supervisory unit at BoM will be strengthened -that's it, the matter is solved. We continue with business as usual. Now we wait for the next scandal; with mostly the same ones, now redesigned as the Gang of 5-15, already at work, we'll not have to wait long!
