We seem to be losing track of the essential. We have seen it at MoFED,at SBM, Mts Telecom, at CEB , at MauBank, CWA and now at one of our prime institutions, the BOM…The culture of impunity goes on year year after year, government after government.
With Sanzman, we were expecting that the culture of impunity that has shielded the culprits for years on would have been brought to an end . A crack down on the flagrant cases of abuse , waste, corruption and irresponsibilities would have sent a strong and dissuasive signal once for all.
There were so many clear-cut cases where the guilty could have been sanctioned/suspended . Instead we saw the same corrupt ones being promoted, the very ones who have mismanaged and hollowed our institutions . They were allowed to go scot-free and then return to the forefront with impunity.
Allianz du Sanzman does not have the audacity, the nerve to antagonize the civil service; they are part of the same elite, comrade in arms , one leaning on the other to serve thieir own masters at our expense (to protez moi , moi mo servi toi ek toi to kontinuรฉ servi to ban financiers ek cronies). That’s the game ; they will be making their usual show, pretending to be quite unhappy as to how the institutions were run , as to how the sector was being supervised , so their magic solution is the urgent need for restructuring that does not solve the issue of meritocracy, of integrity , of the right person at the right place. On prend les mรชmes -the corrupt, underperforming and incompetent ones- et on recommence!
