I came across this caricature below. I was thinking of drafting some thoughtful comments to accompany it. However, this extract from Paul Lismore’s article “WHAT WILL IT TAKE FOR RAMGOOLAM TO UNDERSTAND THAT HE SIMPLY CANNOT GO ON LIKE THIS?” perfectly fits the bill and sends the right message.

Avinash Ramgotee was found dead on 15 August 2026 in his cell at Melrose Prison. Initial findings suggest an alleged suicide by hanging. In the aftermath of the budget, the Banking Act was amended on 31st July 2026 to discharge a bank or other financial institution from the strict duty of confidentiality in disclosing customer information to the Financial Crimes Commission (FCC). A financial institution is now required to provide customer information to the FCC, without the requirement of a Judge’s order, in compliance with “an order or notice under the FCC Act 2023”.

𝐆𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐥𝐞𝐠𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝/or 𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐡𝐞𝐫𝐞: Under-valuing property and making undocumented payments ("under the table”).When a government minister is involved , these situations transition from standard criminal cases into complex legal battles. Political influence often creates massive roadblocks for investigators.
