Acts of violence against minorities demean democracy. It’s just horrid. It is against every norm of democracy; it shows that we still have a lot to do to develop a culture of discussion and tolerance; such acts are a death knell for democracy. The solution is a renewal of social democracy.
When democracy takes over not only in letter, but also in spirit , minorities can expect a better treatment; ....we are seeing that presently in UK and in Bangla Desh "The attacks on religious minorities in some places have been noted with grave concern," the interim cabinet of the new Bangla Desh Govt said in its first official statement since its Thursday appointment. The cabinet said it would "immediately sit with the representative bodies and other concerned groups to find ways to resolve such heinous attacks”.
In UK , thousands of anti-racism demonstrators turned out in towns and cities across England in a “show of unity from communities” against the criminal damage, violence and racism of the thugs of the far-right.
