On the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day,

On the occasion of the International Anti-Corruption Day, I wish to highlight, for our readers, some of our corruption cases that have made the headlines.
“Ce pays cultive la canne à sucre et les préjugés” …et la corruption !
Do not lose hope ! Investigations are still ongoing…
*Crown lands for cronies under successive regimes (PTR.PMSD,MMM, MSM..)

The Banking Act amended to relax the limitation on investments and non-banking operations, and allow the Group to buy, sell, hold or manage pools of assets.
*Sun Trust -a building of shame and corruption; will we ever know the truth about the barter that allowed the MSM to build the Sun Trust Building on land owned by the late Sir Deo Dookhun and also the construction of the Blendax House at the historic site at Dumas Street?
*Rs 220 million found in “coffre fort”!
*Commissions on purchase of aircrafts !
* CT power, Bagatelle Dam, Betamax deals
* You recall the series of gates:-Medpointgate, Heritage Citygate, Bois de rosegate, Dufry-Frydugate, VishnuLuchgate, Sumputhgate, Showkuthgate, Husnoogate, Rawoogate, Biscuitgate, Auto-écolegate ,Platinumcardgate; , Cuivregate, Stlouisgate, BalKulergate, Covid-19gate, STCgate, Liverpooladgate, SBMgate,...!

*The Kistnen's papers showing that the three candidates of Constituency No 8 have exceeded the authorized spending limit in the 2019 general election !
*Sniffing-gate !
*Mic gate
*The latest but not least, the “ti Papié " case !
We had a series of listless, corruption-ridden regimes….
Despite countless scandals, continued misappropriation of funds, notorious incompetence and rampant corruption, our Lepep - both the impoverished masses and the middle class- continued supporting these regimes….Have we shut our eyes and ears to their abuses ?
That’s why we need more people like Nishal….the spark to light the tinderbox…Recall Tarek el-Tayeb Mohamed Bouazizi the street vendor who set himself on fire on 17 December 2010 in Tunisia, becoming a catalyst for the Tunisian Revolution and the wider Arab Spring....
Nishal's hunger strike is just the beginning…..
