I wish to add to G. Sanspeur’s well argued points as to why “la transformation est impossible” under this Govt.

We are the ones to be blamed to have built up so much hope on Allianz du Sanzman !

What can we expect from the nominated advisers in implementing the programme of the Allianz du Sanzman ? We have seen that before, 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗻𝗶𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗻𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗲𝗹𝗶𝘁𝗲, 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗱 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗲𝘀𝘁𝘀, 𝘁𝗼 𝘀𝗺𝗼𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗿 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗮𝘁𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗽𝘁𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗴𝗲.

𝑰𝒏 𝒎𝒚 𝒂𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒍𝒆 “𝑩𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒕 𝑩𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒄 𝒆𝒕 𝑩𝒍𝒂𝒏𝒄 𝑩𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒕”, 𝒑𝒐𝒔𝒕𝒆𝒅 𝒊𝒏 𝑱𝒖𝒍𝒚 2024,. I argued that “Our politicians can no longer feel the pulse of the masses across the country. They are failing to transmit one fundamental message to voters: government is working for you, not for elites of some kind or for friends and relatives in the party establishment. They are unable to present voters with a palatable alternative. 𝑻𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔/𝒂𝒅𝒗𝒊𝒔𝒆𝒓𝒔 /𝒏𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒆e𝒔/𝒄𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒇𝒐𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒔 𝑸𝒖𝒐 𝒃𝒖𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒏𝒆𝒅 𝒖𝒔 𝒊𝒏 𝒃𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒆𝒗𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 “𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒒𝒖𝒆 𝒅𝒆 𝒓𝒖𝒑𝒕𝒖𝒓𝒆”- 𝒂 𝒄𝒐𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒄𝒐𝒏𝒐𝒎𝒊𝒄 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒂𝒍 𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒆 𝒂𝒕 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌 𝙩𝙤 𝒎𝒂𝒊𝒏𝒕𝒂𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝑺𝒕𝒂𝒕𝒖𝒔 𝑸𝒖𝒐.

For years , we have been witnessing more of the same - the cronyism at MT, at Air Mts , at STC, at the MBC…, the encroachment on our democracy, on the effectiveness and transparency of our institutions , on our governance, on accountability , on management of the economy; 𝒐𝒏𝒆 𝒓𝒆𝒈𝒊𝒎𝒆 𝒂𝒇𝒕𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒚 𝒉𝒂𝒏𝒅𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒍𝒆𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒐 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒅𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒐𝒏𝒂𝒍 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒑𝒆𝒓𝒕𝒊𝒆𝒅 𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒈𝒂𝒓𝒄𝒉𝒚. 𝑰𝒇 𝒘𝒆 𝒂𝒓𝒆 𝒊𝒏 𝒔𝒖𝒄𝒉 𝒂 𝒎𝒆𝒔𝒔 𝒕𝒐𝒅𝒂𝒚, 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒔𝒆 𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒔 𝒄𝒂𝒏𝒏𝒐𝒕 𝒆𝒔𝒄𝒂𝒑𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒊𝒓 𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒑𝒐𝒏𝒔𝒊𝒃𝒊𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚 ! “Bonnet Blanc et Blanc Bonnet!”

They have all flouted the principles of sound public finances.. They will continue selling off the country's land to foreigners , is it that different from previous policies on the Silver Economy , on residence permits , on luxurious villas, IRS, Smart Cities, …? Have they committed themselves to a limit on the construction of hotels in coastal regions or a review of the real estate schemes and the ongoing bétonage of the country ? “Bonnet Blanc et Blanc Bonnet! ”

Does the new Alliance Sanzman has the guts and the people to carry out the sector reforms to generate and enhance productivity improvements and sustainable growth ? How many of these old guards will have it written in black and white in their political manifestos that restoring economic balance rests on tough fiscal and monetary measures, and that we’ll have to change course on populist policies and ensure that the country lives within its means without the need of any Moody's scare?

𝑯𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒖𝒕 𝒂 𝒄𝒐𝒎𝒎𝒐𝒏 𝒎𝒊𝒏𝒊𝒎𝒖𝒎 𝒑𝒓𝒐𝒈𝒓𝒂𝒎𝒎𝒆 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒕 𝒑𝒓𝒆𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒔 𝒂 𝒗𝒊𝒂𝒃𝒍𝒆 𝒂𝒍𝒕𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒕𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒘𝒂𝒔 𝒆𝒔𝒔𝒆𝒏𝒕𝒊𝒂𝒍. But our Allianz du Sanzman was more bothered about selecting their candidates on the basis of their traditional communal/caste-support bases than winning over their electorates on governance/policy issues and on their call for a national renewal .

𝑯𝒐𝒘 𝒄𝒂𝒏 𝒘𝒆 𝒕𝒓𝒖𝒔𝒕 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒔 𝑨𝒍𝒍𝒊𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆 𝒅𝒖 𝑺𝒂𝒏𝒛𝒎𝒂𝒏 𝒔𝒕𝒊𝒍𝒍 𝒕𝒓𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒆𝒅 𝒘𝒊𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒃𝒐𝒙 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒑𝒐𝒍𝒊𝒄𝒊𝒆𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒐𝒍𝒅 𝒘𝒂𝒚𝒔 𝒐𝒇 𝒕𝒉𝒊𝒏𝒌𝒊𝒏𝒈 !!! There are alternatives to our present political and economic model of development which are both desirable and workable. But it will not be coming from them ! “Bonnet Blanc et Blanc Bonnet!”

Why are we to be blamed ?

Because we had the false hope that with the ReA joining in, they will break the monopoly of PTR and MMM and give the new alternative a new direction and a sort of equilibrium and a counterforce to the diktat of the two main parties-une bouffée d'air frais .

But we still had some doubts! Ki kales kasé ReA finn entré ?

Eski “Kolektif Konversation Solider” was not a better alternative ?

Are they not going to use ReA to present themselves as an avant-gardiste party (which they are not, given their propensity for political authoritarianism, as well as an unwillingness for genuine reform), capitalising on the ideological fount of the ReA to project an idea of themselves through the prism of how the left has been traditionally viewed here- 𝒇𝒐𝒄𝒖𝒔𝒔𝒊𝒏𝒈 𝒐𝒏 𝒊𝒏𝒆𝒒𝒖𝒂𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒚, 𝒐𝒏 𝒎𝒆𝒓𝒊𝒕𝒐𝒄𝒓𝒂𝒄𝒚, 𝒈𝒐𝒐𝒅 𝒈𝒐𝒗𝒆𝒓𝒏𝒂𝒏𝒄𝒆, 𝒕𝒉𝒆 𝒆𝒏𝒗𝒊𝒓𝒐𝒏𝒎𝒆𝒏𝒕, 𝒘𝒐𝒓𝒌𝒆𝒓𝒔 𝒓𝒊𝒈𝒉𝒕𝒔 𝒂𝒏𝒅 𝒉𝒐𝒘 𝒕𝒐 𝒗𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒑𝒐𝒘𝒆𝒓 𝒊𝒏 𝒄𝒊𝒕𝒊𝒛𝒆𝒏𝒔 𝒓𝒂𝒕𝒉𝒆𝒓 𝒕𝒉𝒂𝒏 𝒆𝒍𝒊𝒕𝒆𝒔 ?

And the fear that they will be delivering little in the way of reform! We kept our fingers crossed hoping that they will be able to satisfy our hunger for radical social, economic and political reform ! " That was before the wasted momentous 60-0!

They have duped us again and again ! They have turned out to be more of the same – the same arrogance, the same me-know-everything attitude, the same cronyism, same lack of boldness and newness in reforms and policy initiatives. These mainstream political parties constantly disappoint us and we tend to lose faith in all parties, and ultimately in democracy and in “vrai Sanzman”.
