The first “prize” has been awarded to Pravind Jugnauth, for his act of high treason towards the Mauritian people and the future generation on his refusal to change the Constitution on ethnic classification and the violation of the commitment made towards the United Nations Human Rights Committee to repeal the mandatory declaration of one's ethnicity for registering as a candidate for the general elections in Mauritius.
The second “prize” went to the Economic Development Board which is bent on selling our most most valuable asset – land – to foreigners -“Mauritius for Sale “
The last “prize” was awarded to the group BPCE International and Outre-Mer for their contested smart city project putting at risk the unique ecosystem of Roches-Noires.
We have to continue undermining our spin dictator and his mafiosi clique , battering them from all sides- in the National Assembly, on the streets, on social media, on radio, in the press, in private and social gatherings , mobilising the youth, the women associations, the senior citizens, the undecided, the diaspora…all who are disillusioned with this regime; there should be no respite for this regime ; we are presently witnessing this on the FCC bill ; it should turn into a blitzkrieg that this regime would not be able withstand !
History is not just shaped by abstract forces like economics or ideology or geography or the more real ones like populism and identity politics . It is also shaped, occasionally , often more decisively by people’s actions guided by their smashed hopes, frustrations -sometimes a brew of rage and despair- and their inner belief that they can make change happen; Can We ? We can !
We can convince them if L’Alliance, Linion Moris, the Reform party, ReA and other small parties ...-all of them - can unite and muster all their forces to BZD !
That should be our commitment for 2024 —our only way to dislodge them before the country slides towards something darker and meaner.
