What has been, on an approximate level, our loss in purchasing power ?

Between Nov 2019 and May 2022, the cumulative impact of inflation on our rupee has been around 18%, on the basis of the official inflation figures which tend to be on the low side.

The nonsense about the WAR CHEST !

The claim by some economists that cash balances can be used for budgetary spending is childish nonsense. Cash balances cannot be considered as current revenue, as they are past revenues that were unspent. Cash balances can be used to finance a deficit, not as current revenue.

A bleak economic outlook !
