But Rattan Chand the problem is that the economic system of political patronage encourages Mauritians to leverage their differences by grouping themselves into different tribal groups in order to better lobby for whatever remains of the pie that the large conglos and cronies have not been able to eat. Unless you have a true democratization of the economy and an end of the system of political patronage you will never see any interest from that silent majority I hear about to setup such a structure that aims to celebrate our differences whilst building a culture of brotherhood
